From 1887 to 1899 Sigmund Freud suffered from a phobia of travelling by train, which he dispelled through analysis. The origins of the phobia appeared to lie in a train journey from Freiberg in Moravia (now Pribor in the Czech Republic) Io Leipzig in 1859, where the Freud family stayed for a year before moving to Vienna.
