Παρουσίαση
The purpose of the National Society for the Study of Education is to encourage serious study of educational problems and to make the results of such study available through its publications as a basis for informed discussion of the issues. The Society was founded in 1901 as successor to the National Herbart Society. Since that date it has published annually a two-volume Yearbook that is distributed without charge to its members throughout the world. As has been the case in previous years, each volume of of this Ninety-seventh nsse Yearbook published in 1998 deals with a separate topic and contains the work of scholars and practitioners who have given serious thought to various aspects of that topic.
Membership in the Society is open to any individual who desires to receive its publications. Members of the Society presently include professors, researchers, graduate students, and administrators in colleges and universities, teachers, supervisors, curriculum specialists, principals, and superintendents of elementary and secondary school districts; and a number of persons not formally connected with educational institutions whose desire to keep up to date on educational matters is served by the publications of the Society.
