Παρουσίαση
These 11 chapters collect Helene Cixous' writings about specific contemporary artists and artworks. More than simply "art criticism" or critical essays, Cixous responds to these artworks as a poet, reading them as if they were poems. Written between 1985 and 2010, most are unpublished in English, or published in rare or unavailable catalogues and art books. An introduction by the editors is followed by a translation of Cixous' Peintures: Ecrits sur l'art. To keep the focus on contemporary art, the two previously published texts on Rembrandt have been exchanged for two more recent texts, one on the Latino photographer Andres Serrano (2008) and the other on the French artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest (2010).Key Features:
