Παρουσίαση
Miniatures are illustrations in illuminated manuscripts. They get their name from the Latin word miniare (to color with red) because early book adornment was created with minium (red lead or vermilion). Miniatures are typically surrounded by ornate borders and decorative initials in the text. The twelve illustrations in this calendar are from the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. All of Pomegranate's calendars are printed with soy-based inks on FSC certified paper, which means the paper has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and manufactured by an FSC certified printer. FSC certification promotes responsible forest management by ensuring that forestry practices are environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically viable. (From the publisher)
