Παρουσίαση
CONCEPT TO CATWALK, the first book in the "Studies in Fashion" series, presents the fashion world from the conception of a collection through to its presentation on the catwalk and in the marketplace. It defines the garment as a "product" and explains the work of the designer, as well as introducing a creative approach to the conception of a garment. The young designer Lutz then opens the doors to his studio and atelier and, with the help of various contributors, demonstrates the processes needed for the development of a collection or a products book and sample making. To conclude, the promotion of a collection is detailed and we are invited backstage at a fashion show.
The book is brought to life by photo coverage and interviews with Didier Ludot, Lutz, Stephane Marais, Odile Gilbert, Antoine Kruk as well as testimonies regarding the skills and creativity of this metier.
This book is illustrated with more than 700 photos and drawings, up to now unseen, and proposes an original and lively way of working to young designers wishing to create their own collections. It offers them an insight to the fashion designer's metier as practised in their studio. (From the publisher)
