While the journal's editorial structure had remained virtually unchanged during the previous decade, the arrival of Anna Querci in May 1973 meant that the pages of domus in the early 1970s were characterized by an explosion of colours, signs of which had already been seen in previous years.Red for the six-floor frontage of the Carioca coffee shop by Shiro Kuramata in the Ginza district of Tokyo; fluorescent red for the tubular-structured, two-storey studio and home of the architect Pierre Botschi in Paris; and red again for the San Francisco branch of the Bank of Montreal, designed by Rex Whitaker Allen.
Green for the curved and shiny surfaces by the architects Salvati and Tresoldi in a Milan flat for two newly-weds, and also for the two buttonless suits of the 'ethnological collection' by Nanni Strada. The world of the Argentine artist Nicolas Garcia Uriburu was all in green: He coloured the water of the Canal Grande in 1968, the Seine and Rio della Plata in 1970 and the fountains of the Palais de Chaillot in 1972.
