Opening my eyes for the first time in a special light and breathing in the late summer sea breeze, I came to life in August 1951 at Velo in Corinthia. My childhood passed within the bosom of the family, where the principal teachings for life were Love, Self-confidence, Industriousness and Justice. Teachings which, as I grow older, accompany me in the course of my life. Concurrently, personal inquiries begin to be expressed through drawing and colour, leading to journeys of the soul and the mind, into another world, a world formed by me. A world that I decide to serve, by studying painting. I study Art History and Greek painting, and I approach Byzantine religious painting.
I am enthused, I feel I am being initiated into something special and I start to become involved with the particular techniques of this holy art. Knowledge becomes insatiable and avaricious, without giving you the satisfaction that you are doing something significant. Until the moment when the painting styles lead you through the doctrine and reveal to you the majesty and the glory of God. [...] (From the publisher)
