1995. A milestone year in the history of graffiti. Graffiti has taken Greece by storm. The walls of the city are flooding with paintings. As the first painted train wagons were crossing the country traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki, the "germ" of graffiti "transmitted" almost as fast as those trains. The first interactions and friendships between individuals from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala and more cities and with the help of correspondence between them led those graffiti artists to the first joint paintings and the first meetings and festivals, such as the one at Chilis str at Kalamaria, Thessaloniki and the other at Klafthmonos Square, Athens. Graffiti is spreading like wildfire throughout almost all the major cities.
The first crews are formed. It's the time for scheduled paintings, fonts, portraits and a different approach. TXC's gigs serve as spontaneous meeting points and give the opportunity for contact, connections and exchange of not only ideas but photographs as well. The arrival at those gigs resembles a small march and the departure takes place amidst clouds of color, since those who are pumped. (From Charitonas Tsamantaki's foreword)
