Situated in Moscow's Red Square, this Russian Orthodox Church was commissioned by Tsar Ivan the Terrible between 1555 and 1561.
The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, commonly known as Saint Basil's Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox church and is a classic example of 16th Century Russian national architecture. It consists of nine towers: the central tower is 47.5 m tall and is topped with a spherical golden dome. It is surrounded by eight colourful domes. (From the publisher)
