Ο D. H. Lawrence έγραψε τον "Εραστή της Λαίδης Τσάτερλι" θέλοντας ν' απελευθερώσει τις γενιές εκείνες που αντιμετώπιζαν το σεξ σαν κάτι το ενοχλητικό ή σαν μια απλή μηχανική πράξη.
