Το θέμα του ποιήματος αφορά τη Διάσκεψη της Λωζάνης και τα πρόσωπα που συμμετείχαν σ' αυτήν. Οι διαπραγματεύσεις διήρκεσαν σχεδόν επτά μήνες και κατέληξαν στις 24 Ιουλίου του 1923 με την υπογραφή της γνωστής Συνθήκης, η οποία κατήργησε τη Συνθήκη των Σεβρών.
