Η μεταγραφή και η έκδοση των χειρογράφων που άφησε πίσω του ο ζωγράφος, πέρα από τα διλήμματα που αναφέρθηκαν στον πρόλογο, απαιτούσαν να παρθούν αποφάσεις και ως προς τον χαρακτήρα της ίδιας της έκδοσης. Τι σημαίνει σχεδιάζω; Ή μάλλον ας κάνουμε την ερώτηση πιο συγκεκριμένη: τι πρέπει να κάνουμε όταν σχεδιάζουμε κάτι; "Πως γίνεται" δηλαδή, αυτό είναι το ερώτημα.
