Παρουσιάζοντας τούτο το βιβλιαράκι στον αρχάριο, πρέπει να πω, ότι σε αντίθεση με το λάδι, η ζωγραφική με ακουαρέλα δεν είναι και τόσο εύκολη! Πιστεύω ότι είμαι υποχρεωμένος ν' αρχίσω μ' αυτή την προειδοποίηση, επειδή δυστυχώς είναι αλήθεια και θα ήταν άδικο ν' αφήσω να εννοηθεί το αντίθετο. Τούτο το καινούργιο βιβλίο το 'γραψα σαν συνέχεια του "Ζωγραφική με λάδι γι' αρχάριους", σύμφωνα με την επιθυμία των εκδοτών μου, με την ελπίδα πως θα βοηθήσει ακόμα περισσότερο το σπουδαστή που προχωράει. Ο τίτλος δηλώνει εύγλωττα το περιεχόμενο. Γιατί από τη στιγμή που ο αρχάριος ανοίγει τα φτερά του για να πετάξει στον κόσμο της ζωγραφικής, οι απρόσμενες δυσκολίες που θα συναντήσει είναι τέτοιες που μπορεί, αν κάποιος δεν του τις εξηγήσει, να τον αποθαρρύνουν ή να τον πείσουν κιόλας, πως δεν έχει τόση ικανότητα για ζωγραφική όση πίστευε...
