The spring 2021 issue of The Poetry Review, with suitably exuberant cover artwork by Kate Dehler, is just published this week. Contributors include Mary Jean Chan, Helen Farish, Jamie McKendrick, Ishion Hutchinson, Amlanjyoti Goswami, Stephanie Sy-Quia, Vona Groarke (this year's Peggy Poole Award judge), Paula Bohince (a former National Poetry Competition winner), Tarn MacArthur and Mohammad S. Razai. We also present new translations of Hagiwara Sakutar by Jae Kim.One attendee of Valzhyna Mort's 'Face - Face - Face: A Poet Under the Spell of Loss', the first in The Poetry Society's Annual Lecture series, described it as "the best poetry event ever". Read it first in the spring issue. In our prose section, Jason Allen-Paisant explores the work of m nourbeSe philip, who will give her lecture on Wednesday 3 November (Terrance Hayes presents his lecture on 28 April). There is a scintillating interview with the acclaimed US poet Alice Notley by Erkut Tokman. Reviews include Glyn Maxwell, Will Harris, Shane McCrae and eight new pamphlets.
