ΚΑΤΟΥΛΛΟΣ: ΠΟΙΗΜΑΤΑ
Η παρούσα εργασία δεν αποσκοπεί στην διεξοδική παράθεση όλου του έργου του Κάτουλλου, αλλά ανθολογεί το αντιπροσωπευτικότερο περίπου ένα τέταρτο των σωζώμενων ποιημάτων του. Στην πλήρη συλλογή περιλαμβάνονται 116 ποιήματα και επιγράμματα, εκ των οποίων τα 8 είναι μείζονα, δηλαδή είτε επύλλια είτε μεγάλες ελεγείες. Αρκετά από τα ποιήματα που δεν περιελήφθησαν εδώ έχουν θέματα παρόμοια με τα παρουσιαζόμενα, ενώ σκόπιμα δεν δουλεύτηκαν ορισμένα ποιήματα που περιέχουν ακραίο σεξουαλικό περιεχόμενο, μάλλον βαρύ για τον μέσο αναγνώστη. CATULLUS (Gaius Valerius, 84-54 BCE), of Verona, went early to Rome, where he associated not only with other literary men from Cisalpine Gaul but also with Cicero and Hortensius.
